What GeoMemo is

GeoMemo is an independent geopolitical intelligence publication. We publish dispatches, editorial essays, intelligence reports, and a daily newsletter — the output of original analysis against our own 340,000+ dispatch corpus. We operate under ICD 203 analytic tradecraft standards: sources cited, confidence levels stated, limitations disclosed.

We are realist-center in orientation. We are not aligned with any capital, party, or corporate interest. We accept no advertising. We take no sponsorship that would influence coverage. Our revenue models are transparent at /about.

Who can use GeoMemo

Anyone. The website is publicly readable. The newsletter is free to subscribe to, subject to the subscription terms below. There is no age gate on the site but the publication is not directed at children under 13 — see our privacy policy for specifics.

What you can do with our content

Our content is copyrighted to GeoMemo. Under fair use / fair dealing principles, you have broad latitude to do the following without asking us:

For anything beyond the above — especially commercial republication, translated reposting, or substantial excerpting — email editor@geomemo.ai. We usually say yes if credit is clean.

What you can't do

Subscription

The newsletter is free and sent from brief@geomemo.ai via Postmark. Signup is double opt-in — your address is not added until you click the confirmation link. Every issue carries a one-click RFC 8058 unsubscribe link and a footer link. We comply with CAN-SPAM, CASL, and GDPR consent requirements.

If you unsubscribe, we stop sending immediately. Your address stays in a suppression list for 30 days to prevent accidental re-subscribe via typo, then it’s purged. You can also email us directly to delete sooner — see privacy policy.

We do not run paid subscriptions, gated premium tiers, metered paywalls, or ad-supported access. If that changes, we’ll update these terms and notify subscribers 14 days before the change takes effect.

What we publish is analysis, not advice

GeoMemo content is for informational purposes. It is not:

We strive for accuracy. We score sources, cite every claim, and state confidence levels. We publish corrections publicly when we get something wrong — see our methodology page. But we make no warranty that the content is complete, current, or suitable for any particular purpose. Use your own judgment. Consult domain experts for decisions that matter.

Accuracy and corrections

If you believe a claim we’ve published is factually wrong, email editor@geomemo.ai with the specific assertion and your counter-evidence. We will investigate within 48 hours. If we confirm the error, we post a visible correction at the top of the article with the change, the reason, and the date. Corrections are not silent edits.

Third-party content

We cite external sources (articles, reports, public statements, datasets) throughout our content. Those sources are copyrighted to their respective owners. Our use of them is for critical analysis, commentary, news reporting, and research — fair use under US law and analogous provisions elsewhere. We attribute every source and link to the original where available.

If you are the rights-holder of content we’ve cited and you believe our use exceeds fair use, email editor@geomemo.ai. We will review promptly and respond.

Intellectual property

All GeoMemo-original content — editorial writing, intelligence reports, data visualizations, methodology, our scoring framework, the software that runs the site — is copyrighted to GeoMemo. The GeoMemo name and logo are trademarks of GeoMemo.

Our source code is not open-source. Our data corpus is not open. Both may change in the future; if so, we’ll publish licenses separately.

API and data access (future)

If and when we offer programmatic API access, separate terms will apply and will be linked from the API documentation. None of the above constitutes a license to call our internal APIs, scrape our database, or integrate our content into a downstream product.

Termination

We reserve the right to terminate access to the site or newsletter for users who violate these terms — scraping, abuse, impersonation, misrepresentation. Termination means: we block your email address, remove you from the subscriber list, and may block your IP range if the abuse is ongoing.

If we terminate in error, email editor@geomemo.ai. We will review and reverse if the termination was mistaken.

You may stop using GeoMemo at any time with no consequence — unsubscribe from the newsletter, stop visiting the site. We don’t penalize lapsed readers or auto-delete accounts.

Disclaimers

The site and newsletter are provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free, that defects will be corrected, or that the site is free of viruses or harmful components.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GeoMemo and its contributors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the site or its content. Our total liability for any claim arising from these terms is limited to $100 USD, regardless of the form of the action.

Indemnity

If you use GeoMemo content in a way that causes legal action against us — for example, misrepresenting our reporting, scraping our corpus into a competing product, or infringing our IP — you agree to indemnify and hold GeoMemo harmless from any resulting claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorney’s fees).

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes must be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware. You waive any objection to jurisdiction or venue in those courts.

If you are a consumer in the European Union, United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer-protection law, nothing above limits your rights under applicable mandatory law.

Updates to these terms

We may update these terms when our operations change — for example, when we launch a paid product, open an API, or enter a new jurisdiction. Material changes will be announced by email to subscribers at least 14 days before the effective date. Continued use of the site after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Contact

For any question about these terms, any request for license beyond fair use, or any dispute — email editor@geomemo.ai. We read every message.
