More than a list of links
Search in English, find every language
Each article gets an English headline and an English summary, so an English query also finds coverage written in Spanish, Greek, Persian, Swahili or Vietnamese.
Summaries you can show
Descriptions are written by our models in their own words, not copied from the publisher. Display them next to the link back to the source.
One story, not forty copies
Articles about the same event are grouped. Pass collapse=true and get one result per story, with how many outlets carried it.
Scored for what matters
Every scored article carries a 0 to 100 importance score and the five yes/no signals behind it. Filter on relevance and score, and build a feed of what moved the world today without writing a classifier.
Countries and regions
Articles are tagged with the countries they concern, not only where the publisher sits. Strongest on geopolitical coverage.
Drop-in for newsapi.org
Same /everything, /top-headlines and /sources. Same article fields. Our extras live in one geomemo object your code can ignore.
Your first request in a minute
Sign up, copy your key from the dashboard, and call the API from anything that speaks HTTP. Official Python and JavaScript clients are planned for launch week; any newsapi.org client works today by changing its base URL.

Before you sign up
Do you return the full article text?
No. You get the headline, a link, the publisher's name, the byline, an image URL on the publisher's site, and our own summary. Full text stays with the publisher, which keeps you and us on the right side of copyright.
Can I use the free plan in production?
The free plan is for development and personal projects. Anything customer-facing or commercial needs a paid plan.
How fresh is the data?
Most articles appear within minutes of being published. Scoring and summaries follow shortly after. The free plan shows articles after a 1-hour delay.
I publish news. How do I opt out?
Write to the address on our publisher section. We act on requests within one business day.
